What Exactly Is A Chastity Device?

A chastity device is a device worn around the genitalia to prohibit intercourse or masturbation. Because of the large demand for them, devices for males are often more varied and available, but there are just a few chastity devices available for women. Men wear chastity cages, which make it virtually impossible to develop an erection, while women wear chastity belts, which prevent them from touching or being penetrated in any way.

The history of chastity belts and devices is based on fiction rather than reality. After all, this was a time when most people didn't even take baths on a regular basis.

At the moment, art is the most plausible explanation for the genesis of chastity belts. According to the Smithsonian, "Chastity Belts are a Myth," and they describe amusing art portraying a husband fastening the keys on his wife's belt while another guy waits in the shadows with another key, shortly to make the husband a cuckold. As "life imitates art," the story of the chastity belt may have become a reality.

The 1998 racial riots in West Java against the Chinese sparked the marketing of "rape corsets" to protect women from sexual abuse. In 2007, Lucio Valentini's trendy iron chastity belts were featured in publications all over the world. The same year, it was found that teenage girls in Rajasthan, India, were being forced to wear chastity belts. In order to reduce the danger of prostitution in specific settings, masseuses were forced to wear belts in 2008.

Chastity devices, on the other hand, are increasingly widely used in fetish and fantasy roleplaying, with more devices designed for male chastity than female chastity.
